At some point the next week I saw the groundhog again. So it was decided that we needed to capture it and remove it from its home under our porch. I'm not sure why it must go. I suppose it must be bad to have a groundhog there or something. I don't know what we plan to do once it is captured either, but that isn't the point.
So, anyways, we have this groundhog trap thing...it is a little cage and it is open at both ends and we put grapes in the middle. Supposedly the trap will close whenever something goes in it. We came home from VBS the other day and I said to my mom "We still haven't caught it." and she laughed and said "It must have seen the trap and thought 'These people are hostile. I'm leaving!'" Then we walked up to the trap and I said "uhh, mom...the grapes are gone."
We both laughed. Mom said, "Now we have a groundhog that is saying 'Wow, these people are hospitable, I'm staying here forever'" So who knows what is going on. The groundhog hasn't been seen for at least a week. But then again it hasn't been captured either.

we have a groundhog or something under our barn/shed, but we just let it roam about. we like animals, and aren't hostile like some people.

Yeah, those things never really worked for us, either.
