VBS

This week was VBS week (Vacation Bible School week) at my old church and I had volunteered to help out. I still go to that church for youth group and to help for VBS since i still have lots of friends there. I was assigned to help with a group of third graders, the group consists of two boys, (Casey, Adam); and four girls (Emily, Abby, Natalie, and Rebecca). The leaders in the group are me, and then another person, the other person has been different every day. At first I thought wow, this group is great, the kids are all well behaved, none of them are too crazy, they all listen well enough. And then it was Wednesday, the kids in my group had all noticed that I am friends with Chris, (who you all have read about in other posts), we are just friends keep in mind, and besides Chris already has a girlfriend, (Emily, obviously not the same Emily as the girl in my group). Well when the two boys realized that we talked quite often they started asking me, "Is Chris your boyfriend?" I thought this was an innocent enough question so I replied "No, we are just friends, and I told them about his girlfriend." Well the boys didn't accept this answer, so since then on all I have heard from then is "Laurel loves Chris" and "Laurel and Chris are dating" and "Laurel and Chris sittin' in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G" and I was like "Oh My Gosh!" "He is not my boyfriend...I don't even have a boyfriend"

Now anytime that it is possible I hear a teasing comment about my friendship with Chris. I yawned today and they said "It's no wonder your tired since you were up all night talking to Chris"...anything and everything I do or say, or that someone else says that can be twisted they twist it is insane! Anyways I still love my group and they girls are cute, they defend me against the guys, and have asked for my phone number so they can call to have me babysit them. So I bought them all some candy for tomorrow which is the last day. I will miss them but...lol. I only feel bad for Chris' girlfriend (though I doubt she knows about this). Anyways I'm off for now, I'm getting really dizzy and can barely sit up straight and continue typing.

Luv ya all!

I used to do VBS at my church. Then I stopped going. It's too bad...

My church decided to faction off of a nice community VBS thing we had going with the methodists down the street...apparently it's not enough that the kids come to Christ, they have to come to our church, too.

Needless to say, I didn't feel much like helping out...
